Luxury city vibes, vibrant culture & breathtaking beaches
If you’re thinking about combining a city break with an exotic beach escape… this itinerary is absolutely perfect. We recently experienced Singapore and Thailand in one incredible trip – and it truly delivered unforgettable moments (with a few honest insights along the way!).
✈️ Starting the Journey – Heathrow to Singapore
We made life easier by staying overnight at Heathrow before our flight – something I always recommend to clients for long-haul travel.
Flying with Singapore Airlines on the A380 was an experience in itself. The aircraft is huge, the service is exceptional, and nothing is too much trouble for the crew. The journey is long, but they make it as comfortable as possible – with great food, attentive service, and a relaxed atmosphere.
🇸🇬 Singapore – A City of Contrasts

We arrived in Singapore and transferred privately to our hotel. As is often the case, we were early for check-in, so we freshened up and headed to the pool – a welcome break in the heat!
🏨 Hotel Stay – Furama
Our hotel was perfectly adequate for a short stay. Rooms were compact (as is common in Singapore), but fine for a couple of nights.
👉 Honest tip for clients: Singapore hotels can be smaller and more expensive than expected – location is key.
🌆 Exploring Singapore
We spent our first evening exploring the riverside and quay areas – lively, atmospheric, and full of bars and restaurants.
👉 Top tip: Singapore is noticeably more expensive than the UK, especially for food and drinks.
🍹 The Iconic Long Bar Experience
A must-do in Singapore is the famous Raffles Hotel Singapore Long Bar.
- Arrive early to avoid queues
- Enjoy the famous Singapore Sling
- Throw peanut shells on the floor – it’s all part of the tradition!
It’s pricey, but worth it for the experience.
🍽️ Marina Bay Sands Evening
We celebrated a special 50th birthday at LAVO in Marina Bay Sands.
The views across Singapore are absolutely stunning 🌆
However (honest opinion!):
- Drinks and food are very expensive
- Service and food quality didn’t quite match expectations
👉 Worth it for the views, but not a must-do for dining.
🌿 Evening Highlights
- Gardens by the Bay – beautifully lit at night
- Marina area bars – buzzing atmosphere
✈️ Singapore Airport Experience
Singapore’s Changi Airport is an attraction in itself – featuring the incredible indoor waterfall at Jewel Changi Airport.
You could easily spend hours here without getting bored!
🇹🇭 Bangkok – Vibrant, Chaotic & Full of Life

Arriving in Bangkok is a complete contrast to Singapore – busy, energetic, and a little overwhelming at first… but incredibly exciting!
🏨 Where We Stayed – Rambuttri Area
We stayed near Rambuttri Road – and it was perfect.
- Pedestrian-friendly
- Surrounded by bars, restaurants & street food
- Lively but still relaxed
👉 It felt like a resort atmosphere – just without the beach!
🎉 Bangkok Highlights
- Khao San Road – chaotic, fun, unforgettable
- Trying street food & even insects! 🐜
- Rooftop bars with amazing views
🚤 Longtail Boat Tour
One of the best experiences of the trip!
We explored:
- Traditional stilt houses
- Beautiful temples
- The famous Golden Buddha
👉 This is a must-do – you see a completely different side of Bangkok.
🥊 Muay Thai Night
We visited Rajadamnern Stadium for a Muay Thai fight night.
The atmosphere was electric – such a unique and memorable experience!
🌴 Krabi (Ao Nang) – Relaxation & Natural Beauty

Next stop: Krabi – and this is where the relaxation truly began.
We stayed right on Ao Nang beachfront with:
- Stunning limestone mountain views
- Beachfront dining
- A fantastic pool area
🌊 Krabi Highlights
- Hong Islands boat trip – absolutely breathtaking
- Early start = fewer crowds
- Crystal-clear water & untouched scenery
- Ao Nang Night Market – great for food & atmosphere
- Local bars with live music 🎶
👉 Krabi is perfect for combining relaxation with excursions.
🏝️ Koh Samui – The Perfect Ending

Our final stop was Koh Samui – and it was the perfect way to end the trip.
We stayed in Chaweng:
- Close to the beach 🏖️
- Walking distance to nightlife
- Near a great night market
💛 What Made Koh Samui Special
- Warm, welcoming locals
- Relaxed island vibe
- Great mix of quiet and lively areas
🐘 Unique Experiences
- Breakfast at an elephant café
- Private longtail boat trip
- Visit to Pig Island 🐷 (yes, really!)
👉 A truly unforgettable experience – especially for a special occasion.
🎉 Celebrating a Special Occasion
This trip was to celebrate a 50th birthday – and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
From rooftop dining in Singapore to island hopping in Thailand… every destination brought something completely different.
